What Impact is Your Unconscious Reel Having

Instagram reels have become popular.

What if you, as a human, are an unconscious reel ?

Your unconscious is a reel that plays out continuously. It is the way you show yourself to the world. For example, your kindness, your status, your power, your wounds etc. The image is created through your body language, and your mind creates the language to compliment the image. Unlike an Instagram reel that may have numerous takes before it is deemed to be perfect, and then published, your unconscious reel simply plays out without any conscious thought. If it is rooted in fear (survival consciousness), it has the potential to be a catalyst for tremendous pain and suffering. For example, your unconscious reel may create unexpected reactions from those around you, and you may be left wondering what just happened. You didn’t see that particular reaction coming and feel you didn’t deserve to be treated that way. You then react unconsciously, and you find yourself in the shadow battlefield of the unconscious, where blame and self-righteousness (not my fault) take up the swords. There is always a winner and a loser in this battlefield, so you will walk away one or the other, depending how strong your ego power is.

“The unconscious produces dramas, poetic fictions, it is a theatre” James Hillman

These unconscious reels that are rooted in fear, cause separation, pain and suffering until you become aware of the specific fears that are driving them. Your unconscious reels are expressing your wounds and the emotions they generate. Since you are the creator of your life, your future is being created by your past wounds. In this present moment, you are planting the seeds that are growing the future that you will be harvesting in a few months, or perhaps a year from now. So, if you are making choices and taking action from your unconscious reel, then your unconscious reel is creating your life versus you creating it consciously. When you become aware of your unconscious stories, patterns and beliefs, many of which are intergenerational, you are giving yourself the gift of being the conscious creator of your life. Living in creation consciousness is where the magic happens. You no longer look at someone else’s life and wish you could have what they have. Instead, you will know what you truly desire and will be so focused on creating it, that you will not be lamenting, ‘that happens for others but not for me’. You will be free of victim consciousness and working with your fears as they arise. You will be in awe of the magic and the synchronicities showing up for you as you experience life happening for you, not to you.

I so often hear people say, ‘I don’t have any fears’. What they are really saying is, ‘my fears are not conscious’. Fear is a human construct. As a human, you have been conditioned to fear.

Some of the universal fears that you may be unconsciously holding are:

1.     being suppressed, controlled, not having choice

2.     not being enough to belong, to fit in

3.     being unwanted, not being loved

4.     being worthless, having to prove you have worth

5.     not being seen, felt or accepted

6.     being useless, powerless to help self and others

7.     not being worthy of support, having to figure it out and get it right on your own

8.     being a victim and experiencing pain (physical, emotional, mental, spiritual)

9.     loss, separation, being alone, abandoned

The human egoic mind often tells us what we want to hear. In my personal journey with embracing fear, I have been able to break through the egoic mind by being aware of the desires that are connected with each fear. Whatever desire I feel I am in lack of, I know that its corresponding fear is keeping me in an unconscious reel.

Some of the desires that are connected to each fear are:

1.     to be free, sovereign, autonomous

2.     to know you are enough, are one with

3.     to know you are loved unconditionally

4.     to know you are valued and worthy

5.     to be fully seen, felt and accepted unconditionally

6.     to be empowered, know your gifts are unique and needed

7.     to trust that you are guided and supported, life has your back

8.     to trust that your needs are met, have the stamina to experience what is

9.     to be connected to your soul, oneness

In my experience, focusing on and aligning with the energy of my desires, versus bemoaning the lack of them, has diminished the fear greatly. For example, I align my choices and actions with being sovereign. If the fear of not having a choice or of being controlled arises, I recognize it, acknowledge it, allow it space and it dissipates, and then my life is no longer lived from the unconscious reel of fearing being suppressed. The truth is, it is not easy to suppress a person who is not suppressing themselves.

What impact is your unconscious reel having on your life and those around you?

What fears are keeping you stuck in an unconscious reel?

These are big life questions that require being microscopically truthful with yourself. One of the most valuable tools I use is to answer these big life questions is, channel writing. In my experience, it helps me move through the layers of story to the underlying truth in a short period of time. I will explore the topic of channel writing in my blog that will be published in late December.

In January2023, I will be leading a Channel Writing Circle to support women who desire to connect more

deeply with their heart — with their soul wisdom.
